The Arab states of the Persian Gulf are becoming increasingly important partners for Russia, particularly for Moscow, both in terms of expanding trade and economic cooperation and attracting foreign direct investment. This trend, actively supported by the capital's government, finds its logical continuation in integration with key international industrial platforms, such as the upcoming "INNOPROM. Saudi Arabia," scheduled for February 2026.
Within the framework of the recent "Made in Russia" forum in Moscow, a significant business dialogue took place, dedicated to strengthening the capital's economic relations with the Gulf countries.
As noted by Anatoly Garbu zov, Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, Moscow holds the top position in Russia's overall trade turnover with the region. Over the past year, the volume of mutual trade between the city and Gulf countries increased by 50 percent, and exports from Moscow enterprises to the region's markets grew by approximately the same amount. Products from light industry, instrumentation, medicines and vaccines, as well as food and beverages, are in particular demand.
Moscow, representing a promising and rapidly growing market with an agglomeration of over 30 million people, is attractive to foreign partners for long-term projects, including the localization of high-tech production facilities and investments in the construction of world-class objects.
Dr. Mohammad Ahmad Al-Jaber, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Russian Federation, highlighted the impressive potential for mutually beneficial partnership, emphasizing cooperation in innovation, scientific research, technology, and industry. The exchange of knowledge in areas such as artificial intelligence, green energy, and biotechnology will open new horizons.
The business dialogue was organized by "Mosprom," the Center for Export, Industry, and Investment Support, which actively assists Moscow-based enterprises in finding foreign buyers and partners. As part of Mosprom's programs, such as the "Made in Moscow" local buyer program, companies will soon participate in business missions to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Of particular importance is Mosprom's integration with its own stand at the International Industrial Exhibition "INNOPROM. Saudi Arabia," which will serve as a key platform for Moscow enterprises to develop their export potential and seek new partners in the Middle East.
